As churches and as individuals, the following are important: know your own values related to money. Keep a sense of humor about money. Think about money as a resource for life, not a thing in itself. Learn to track your own anxiety (this takes time). Make decisions on principle not emotion. Learn about your family (or church) story around money. Cultivate gratitude not only at Thanksgiving but continually.
I find these are ongoing disciplines for me. And in all honesty, I can do them in some days and some seasons better than others, and some days not at all. As I am able to continue these practices, it seems to contribute to resilience in other parts of my life, too.
