Getting more neutral about politics

I came across a fascinating blog post by Jenny Brown, author of the great book, Growing Yourself Up, which I reviewed last year. She talks about heroes and villains in politics and family life. She’s writing in the Australian context, and I think it might help us here in the U.S. get more objective ourselves.

None of us can change the poisonous nature of our current political (and sometimes religious) conversations. But we can work on our own responses, to calm down, to be more open to others who see things differently, and to get more curious and less judgmental. That’s a spiritual process.
