Are you in the hot seat in your leadership right now? My book group just read Rudyard Kipling’s Kim, a delightful story — it’s an adventure, but it also has fascinating religious elements, with Christian, Buddhist, Muslim and Hindu characters. In our discussion last night, I remembered Kipling’s great poem “If.” The first line alone is terrific for church leaders: “If you can keep your head when all about you/ Are losing theirs and blaming it on you…” Here is the full poem. (Women leaders, remember this poem applies to you, too, despite the very male language — just remember it was written in 1895).
What do you need to do to keep going right now?
